Nestled in the storybook landscapes of Bavaria lies a verdant, toylike town rife with history and culture. Munich - or München in German - is a town unfettered by eras, where Gothic spires and Baroque steeples compete for admiration along the low-slung skyline and locals chuckle at the notion that farm-to-table is a modern trend. This overgrown village, where every historical marker is a stones-throw from the last, also happens to be my overgrown village, and the perfect spot for day trips and staycations.

How the French Stole Christmas

For the past few years, I’ve been going to France to spend Christmas with my (very French) in-laws, and every year is an onslaught of six course meals, cousins in cocktail dresses, and cultural family outings… It’s a lot. And I’m the only one who seems to struggle to keep up.
